Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The above image depicts Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the day of his funeral.  I see this image and simply experience a feeling of disgust towards the number of senseless of deaths in our community.  The death of Dr. King was a saddened occasion while at the same time an honorable act of continued courage by a man who fought for civil rights for all Americans.  The caption “Forgive them father, for they know not what they do” speaks volume to the lack of leadership in our community. We must consider the impact that a leader/activist of the caliber as Dr. King would have in today’s society.  Perhaps our youth and young adults would have purpose and a movement to be a part of.
